Imagined and handcrafted in France, 'The Longboard' was originally conceived for Ker Gonan, our Maison Estran seaside home in Le Pouliguen.

A sculptural, boat-inspired oval that anchors a room the way a keel steadies a craft. 'The Longboard' is not an off-the-shelf piece; it’s made to your dimensions, material, and finish by our partner workshop in Brittany. Built for beautiful, generous everyday use.

Why it’s Special

  1. - Architectural base, effortless seating. The twin curved keel legs keep the perimeter open - no corner legs to fight with.
  2. - True materials. Shown in solid US Walnut; also available in French/European oak, ash, or elm. Hand-finished in durable oil-hardwax for a silky, repairable sheen.
  3. - Made in France, start to finish. Limited production, bench-crafted in Brittany for Maison Estran.

Made to Measure

  1. - Size & seating: We tailor length/width to your room and guest count. Standard dining height is ~71–76 cm (28–30 in) for comfortable chair fit; we recommend 74–76 cm for most settings. 
  2. - Materials: US Walnut (hero option). Alternatives on request: French/European oak, ash, elm.
  3. - Finish options: Clear oil-hardwax (low sheen), toned oils on oak/ash, or custom samples.
  4. - Edge & details: Soft oval with under-bevel; felt glides included.

Lead time, Process & Delivery

  1. - Timeline: Minimum 8 weeks after we finalize the design together and the final quote is signed. (Custom furniture typically runs 8–12 weeks)
